Message from Superintendent/Principal
Welcome to Janesville School!
Welcome to a new school year! I am excited to join the Janesville Wildcat family as your superintendent/principal. Our small rural school is nestled against the eastern slope of the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains. We are proud to serve approximately 315 students in Transitional Kindergarten through 8th grade and to provide a close-knit, supportive school community where every student is known and valued.
Our dedicated staff includes sixteen teachers, including a full-time resource/special education teacher, a full-time counselor, paraprofessionals, a librarian, and a computer technician. This team allows us to maintain small class sizes while providing students with the individual attention and support they need to thrive.
The mission of Janesville Union Elementary School is to prepare students to be productive citizens and confident authors of their future. Our school theme, “We are WILD,” reflects the values we want our students to carry with them each day:
· W – We are Welcoming
· I – We have Integrity
· L – We are Loyal
· D – We are Determined
Janesville School students have opportunities to participate in a wide variety of academic, enrichment, and athletic activities. Our athletic programs provide students with opportunities to build teamwork, confidence, perseverance, and school spirit. Our full Extended Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) provides before- and after-school activities, as well as full-day programs on non-school days throughout the year and during the summer.
We are incredibly proud of the programs and opportunities we offer our students and of the dedicated staff who make them possible. Most of all, we are proud to be part of a community that values learning, character, connection, and the success of every child.
We invite you to stop by and visit us, meet our staff, and experience our beautiful campus for yourself. We look forward to welcoming you to Janesville School!
Mrs. Fleming
